SCR Altach has announced the signing of 20-year-old Jakob Brandtner as their second new player for the 2026/27 season. Brandtner will join the team until 2028. "Jakob is a young, hungry player who has already gained experience at a good level. He fits perfectly into our profile: young, developmentally capable and with a clear will to take the next step. We are happy to welcome him to Altach", says Sport Director Philipp Netzer. Born in Graz, Brandtner played for the Salzburg Red Bull Academy since U15 and played a total of 40 second league games for FC Liefering (one goal, three assists). His contract with the "Jungbullen" was not extended. The nine-time ÖFB U19 international can be used as a left-back or in the center of defense. Before signing in the Land, Brandtner was in talks with TSV Hartberg. Brandtner: "I am very happy about this step. SCR Altach is a club with a clear philosophy and a very good environment for young players. I want to make my next development steps here and reach Bundesliga level. I look forward to getting to know the team next week and starting the preparation."
